Howard County police charged two Ellicott City teen-agers Saturday with stealing BB guns and using them to shoot out several windows in Ellicott City and West Columbia.

Douglas Jason Jones, 18, of the 9100 block of Windflower Drive and a 17-year-old boy were charged with destruction of property and theft. Mr. Jones was released on $5,000 bond, and the youth was released into parental custody, a Howard District Court Commissioner said. The younger boy's name was not released.

According to police, the pellet guns were stolen from a shed at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Ellicott City, where property of a Boy Scout club was stored.

Between 8 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Saturday, several residents in Elli

cott City and Columbia reported that someone fired pellets into their cars and homes. One of the victims gave police a description of a vehicle, police said.

Patrol officers stopped a vehicle matching the description late Saturday and found two BB guns and ammunition inside, police said.

Mr. Jones and his friend were questioned and then arrested, they said.
