The column also gave the wrong date for the Park Elementary School children's fashion show. The show is scheduled at 6 p.m. March 10.

The Lenten season begins Wednesday, and many area Christian churches will be holding special services. Everyone is invited to participate. St. John United Methodist Church, 226 Washburn Ave., will have two services on Ash Wednesday. Confession, the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion will take place at 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church, 110 Townsend Ave. will hold a special Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. March 1. The church also will sponsor Lenten supper programs from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday evenings, beginning March 5.

Story hour at the Brooklyn Park Library, 1 East 11th Ave. begins Tuesday and continues through April 12. The program is for children ages 2 to 6 and will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m. Wednesdays. Enjoy stories, music, crafts and more.

Park Elementary School has scheduled a children's fashion show for 6 p.m. Friday. The latest spring styles will be modeled by the students and provided by Kids R Us. Tickets are $3 for adults, $1.50 for children age 12 and under, and may be purchased in advance or at the door.

North County High School's PTA Executive Board will meet at 6 p.m. tomorrow in the conference room. A regional Citizens Advisory Committee meeting also will take place at 7 p.m that day in the auditorium. Don Rodkey, director of middle schools for Anne Arundel County, will be speaking on the status of middle school construction projects and the business-school partnerships. Harbor Hospital Center's next Super Baby Sitter course is scheduled for 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. March 11, in the hospital's Gruehn Building.
The class is designed for beginning baby sitters and children who help their families with child care. Sitters learn how to administer first-aid for burns, bleeding head injuries, bites and stings, recognize potential safety hazards, prevent and treat poisonings, select age-appropriate toys, games and activities. They also will learn how to bathe, diaper and handle infants and children.
The instructor is a registered nurse who tailors hands-on activities for each class. The fee, which includes comprehensive instructional materials and lunch, is $20. Space is limited.

The hospital also is offering "Myths and Facts about Cholesterol." The free program, the first of the 1995 Harbor Heart Talk series, will be held at 7 p.m. March 14 in the Hospital's Gruehn Auditorium. A registered dietitian will lead the discussion and discuss how to decipher food labels and percentage of daily cholesterol intake.
Heart-healthy refreshments will be served.
