Loyola wins in two OTs STATE WOMEN

Loyola broke a tie in the second overtime by scoring all 14 points on free throws to defeat host Siena, 102-98, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game yesterday.

Patty Stoffey went 17-for-21 from the foul line -- 9-for-10 in overtime -- to finish with 37 points for Loyola (16-8, 6-6).

Loyola trailed by nine with 5:37 left in regulation, but tied it at 76 on Heather Abbot's layup to force the first overtime.

Kristin Fraser hit two free throws with 11 seconds to tie the score at 88 to force the second overtime.

Siena (15-9, 6-6) was led by Kim Colunio's 31 points.

* Frostburg State 69, Chowan 54: Kara Reed scored 25 as Frostburg State downed host Chowan.

* Mount St. Mary's 97, Fairleigh Dickinson 56: Mount St. Mary's (20-5, 16-1) extended its winning streak to 14 games and clinched its fourth straight 20-win season in a Northeast Conference game. Heather Wable and Susie Rowlyk led the Mount with 16 points each.

* Marymount 99, Salisbury State 72: Marymount (23-4) won its fifth straight Capital Athletic Conference title and clinched an NCAA Division III playoff berth. Amy Fenzel scored 16 to lead Salisbury (21-6).

* Navy 61, Lehigh 59: Adi Schneck scored 21 points and Becky Dowling added 15 points and 14 rebounds as Navy (15-11, 10-4) beat Lehigh (3-23, 2-12) and clinched the third seed in the coming Patriot League tournament.

The Mids trailed 56-51 with 5:57 to go but scored the next 10 points over the next 5:19 to take a 61-56 lead with 36 seconds left.

* Coppin State 92, Morgan State 70: Natasha Parks scored a game-high 28 points to lead Coppin State (13-13, 10-6). Kaira Warfield led Morgan (4-20, 4-12) with 23.

* Ursinus 78, Johns Hopkins 70: Freshman Megan Larkin scored 21 to help host Ursinus (21-4, 15-2) beat Johns Hopkins (20-6, 13-3) and clinch an NCAA Division III berth in the Centennial Conference title game.

Julie Anderson led the Blue Jays with 16 points and nine rebounds.
