25 Years Ago (week of Feb. 15-21, 1970)
* Two men were arrested by Howard County police in connection with the shooting of a physician near his Chestnut Hill home. The physician had interrupted an alleged burglary in progress at a nearby residence.
* The operator of a laundromat on Main Street in Ellicott City was directed by the health department to connect his business to public sewerage. The directive was issued because the laundromat had been identified as the "largest remaining source of pollution in Ellicott City." Sewage from the facility was being discharged directly into the Tiber River.
