Smith scores 30 to lead Western to city crown

Kimberly Smith led No. 1-ranked Western (22-0) with 30 points in a 90-30 victory over host Poly (18-5) in the Baltimore City league championship game.

Chanel Wright added 17 for the Doves and Lindsey Willemain scored nine points for the Engineers.

* Old Mill 63, Glen Burnie 32: Holly Shaffer scored 13 points and Dana Dawson added 12 as for No. 12 Old Mill.

Bridget Davis led the Gophers with 14 points.

* Westminster 65, Thomas Johnson 57: Jill Ibex scored 15 and grabbed 11 rebounds and Cassie Conklin added 14 points to pace No. 14 Westminster (18-4).

Cassie Conklin added 14 points for the Owls.

* Annapolis 76, Chesapeake-AA 38: Host Annapolis got 21 points and 11 rebounds from Kammi Cottrell in their victory over Chesapeake-AA.

The victory clinched a 4A Region playoff spot. Jackie Edwards, who had 17 points for Annapolis (13-9), also made seven steals.

* Broadneck 58, South River 28: Sarah Brino scored 16 points and Alicia Nagowski added 11 as No. 19 Broadneck (16-6) defeated host South River (2-18).

* Loch Raven 63, Carver A&T; 19: Jen Clarke scored a career-high 20 points to lead Loch Raven (18-4) . Maura Lyng added 11 points for the Raiders.

* Francis Scott Key 53, Walkersville 43: Maureen Ricey scored 21 points and added four assists to pace Francis Scott Key (7-15) over host Walkersville.

* Bel Air 50, Edgewood 27: Jackie Hinson scored 18 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots for visiting Bel Air (11-9).

Jean Tyrrell added 15 points, three assists and two steals for the Bobcats, who won 10 of their last 12 games.
