LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Jim Secretarski scored 21 points as Siena topped Loyola, 88-81, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game last night. Five Siena players reached double figures.
The Saints (8-17, 5-8) made 34 of 48 free throws and went to the foul line 38 times in the second half. Four Greyhounds fouled out.
Loyola (8-17, 4-9) went on a 10-3 run at the start of the second half to tie the game at 42-42 on Teron Owens' layup. The game was tied at 46 with 15:43 left, but Siena scored 22 of the next 31 points for a 68-55 lead with 6:56 left.
Loyola came within six points toward the end of the half, but could get no closer.
David Credle scored a career-high 22 points for the Greyhounds, and freshman point guard John McDonald had 19 points and five assists. Loyola committed only eight turnovers.
