Hopkins women gain final of Centennial tournament

Angie Arnold and Julie Anderson each scored 18 points, leading host Johns Hopkins to a 78-66 victory over Washington College in a Centennial Conference tournament semifinal game last night.

Johns Hopkins (20-5) will travel to Ursinus College Saturday for the conference title game. Ursinus defeated visiting Gettysburg, 94-90, in overtime in the other semifinal game last night.

The Blue Jays were leading, 65-64, with 2:50 remaining in the game after a run by Washington, but they responded with a 13-0 run to extend the lead to 78-64.

Amy Dodrill added 12 points for Johns Hopkins. Eboni Taylor led Washington (13-13) with a conference single-game playoff record of 27 points and added 12 rebounds.

Karen Sieger had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Allison Wentworth (Old Mill) added 12 points and 14 rebounds for Washington.
