Maggie Sheer of Atholton High School has been selected to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Foundation's (HOBY) 1995 Maryland Leadership Seminar from April 6-9 at Columbia Inn.

HOBY is an international organization committed to recognizing and developing the leadership potential of high school sophomores.

The Maryland Leadership Seminar, held annually since 1978, builds leadership skills through workshops and discussion groups. Students are provided an opportunity to interact with leaders from business, government, education and science.

Activities for this year include a Business Leaders' Breakfast and Luncheon, a tour of the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, media and ethics seminars, and technology demonstrations sponsored by Bell Atlantic.

HOBY was established in 1958 by actor Hugh O'Brian, who portrayed television's Wyatt Earp. Inspired by a visit with medical missionary Alber Schweitzer, he founded the organization as his contribution to society.
