A masked gunman robbed a 52-year-old Columbia man after the man withdrew money from an automated teller machine Monday night, Howard County police said.
The victim, Jeffrey Louis Moss of Columbia's Harper's Choice Village, was not harmed during the 10:20 p.m. incident, police said.
The gunman, who wore a bandanna over his face, surprised Mr. Moss as he completed a transaction at the NationsBank machine at the Harper's Choice Village Center in the 5200 block of Harper's Farm Road. The robber pointed a small black handgun at him and took $50 from his hand, police said.
While two companions in dark clothing stood near Mr. Moss' vehicle, the gunman used Mr. Moss' bank card and withdrew $100 cash from his savings account, police said.
The robber -- described as a slim, 5-foot-9 black male in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a yellow hooded rain coat -- fled with his two companions.
