The Washington Redskins may not be the only team willing to give up a third-round draft pick to get restricted free-agent fullback Kevin Turner of the New England Patriots.
Although the Redskins have indicated they are willing to give Turner $1.1 million a year, they may get competition from the Philadelphia Eagles, who have contacted Turner and may give him an offer.
If Turner gets a formal offer from either team, the Patriots can keep him by matching it or give him up for a third-round pick.
Among the other players the Redskins are interested in is linebacker Marvcus Patton of the Buffalo Bills, who was the first free agent to visit Redskin Park yesterday since the signing period began last Friday.
Patton said he hasn't decided yet whether he's going to leave the Bills.
