Head of county trooper program will transfer to personnel office

THE BALTIMORE SUN

After "six good years at the Westminster barracks," 1st Sgt. Stephen C. Reynolds will be transferred to state police headquarters in Pikesville March 1.

Sergeant Reynolds, supervisor of the county's resident trooper program and public information officer at the Westminster barracks, will move to the personnel management office.

"I have enjoyed working with the resident trooper program and feel that I have been able to interact with the county residents and promote many pro-active programs," he said.

"It will be a new challenge and I look forward to the change," said Sergeant Reynolds, a Carroll County resident.

Officers assigned to the resident trooper program are the primary law enforcement officers in the county, except for the cities and towns with their own police forces.

1st Sgt. Thomas Long, the administration officer at the barracks, will assume Sergeant Reynolds' duties March 1. 1st Sgt. Leonard Armstrong, now assigned to the Forestville barracks and a resident of Carroll County, will assume administrative duties.

Sergeant Reynolds said 43 troopers are assigned to the resident program, about the same number of officers as assigned to road patrol and the criminal investigation division at the barracks.
