Concert to benefit shelter project

"Evening at Oakland," presented by the Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at Oakland at 5430 Vantage Point Road.

The event will feature concert pianist and composer Paul Sullivan.

A recording artist, Mr. Sullivan has been the composer for Pilobolus Dance Theatre, ABC-TV and the Winter Olympics Committee.

Light refreshments will be provided by event sponsors Renaissance Pastries and Bun Penny. Admission is $40. Advanced registration is required. Proceeds will benefit the Randy Sands Men's Shelter Project, an emergency and transitional housing program. Information: 531-6006.

Legislators forum set for District 12

A Maryland State District 12 legislators forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. today at the Arbutus Library, 1581 Sulphur Spring Road, Arbutus.

Edward J. Kasemeyer, recently elected state senator to District 12, and James E. Malone and Donald E. Murphy, recently elected co-delegates for District 12A, have been invited to speak.
