Boy, 15, charged with killing owner of Dundalk store

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 15-year-old boy has been charged as an adult with murder in the shooting death of a Dundalk liquor store owner last week, police said.

William Patrick Ford III of the 8100 block of Gray Haven Road in Dundalk is to appear in court tomorrow for a bail review hearing, authorities said. He was ordered held without bail after his arrest Saturday on charges stemming from the Feb. 13 slaying of Angelo Coliano.

Mr. Coliano, 80, was found lying in front of Try-It Liquors, a store in the 200 block of Wise Ave. that he had owned for 30 years. The Linthicum man had been shot in the chest during an apparent robbery attempt, police said. He was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Police said the Ford youth was arrested at the Charles Hickey School, where he was being held in an unrelated offense. Police said the teen-ager became a suspect after he told another person of his involvement in the shooting.

No additional arrests are expected.
