BNI revises booklet for Baltimore residents
BNI, formerly Baltimore Neighborhoods Inc., has published a revised version of its "Guide to Local, State & Federal Law Governing Tenant-Landlord Relations," designed for Baltimore City residents.
This edition includes several new topics, such as landlord responsibility to control noise and other annoying activities and to protect tenants from crime, and the Maryland lead poisoning prevention program.
The booklet is available for $6. Send check or money order to: BNI, 2217 St. Paul St., Baltimore, Md. 21218. The book can be obtained at the office in person for $4.

* ERA Robert Ward Realty announced that Rita Ingram, of its Bel Air office, has been chosen to speak before the ERA International convention opening today in Nashville.
* Hightower Appraisal Services, based in Rockville, has received a three- year contract from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to review appraisals of HUD-owned properties.
* Margaretten & Co., a division of Chemical Residential Mortgage Co., has opened an office in Ocean City. Fran Gebhar will head the office and Marcia Lynch was named second loan officer.
* Szpara Residential Design was chosen by Apple Tree Homes " to design six models for its Altee Ridge development in the New Windsor area of Carroll County. Szpara recently designed a model now being built by Lynch Builders at Westgate in the Bel Air section of Harford County.
* The Tennyson Group Inc. has opened for business at 5746 Union Mill Road, No. 450, Clifton, Va. Tennyson will provide marketing, informational and consulting services and products to the real estate and residential mortgage lending industries. The firm's chief executive is Jim Tingley, a 20-year veteran of the real estate lending industry with a background in direct marketing and telemarketing.
* Welsh Construction Remodeling Co. has been named as the Residential Remodeler of the Year for 1994 by the Maryland Improvement Contractors Association.
* Williamsburg Builders received a first-place award in the single-family detached homes division and an award of merit in the custom homes category at the recent Finest for Family Living awards ceremony, held in Arlington, Va.
ON THE MOVE
* Chateau Builders, based in Columbia, appointed Iris A. Steffens sales manager for the Willows of Crofton development in Anne Arundel County.
* O'Conor, Piper & Flynn, Realtors appointed Jean I. Quattlebaum to the new position of career counselor for the Timonium-based company. Previously a saleswoman in the firm's Ellicott City office, she will recruit new agents and show the staff how various educational programs can improve their sales and marketing skills and bring higher commissions.
Ms. Quattlebaum holds the Graduate Realtors Institute designation from the National Association of Realtors and was named 1991 Realtor of the Year by the Howard County Association of Realtors.
At the Towson/Loch Raven office, Doris M. Schulze, a six-year agent, has been designated a certified residential specialist by the Realtors National Marketing Institutes' Residential Sales Council.
O'Conor, Piper & Flynn, also announced that Clyde Broadwater, Loretta Northcutt and Patricia Hann joined the company as salespeople in the Towson/Lutherville office.
* Parkway Mortgage said Patricia Silva Franklin, David Miller and Karen M. Forrester joined the firm's Baltimore/Washington office Dorsey Business Park.
* Penza Associates Architects Inc. said Dwayne Van Horn has joined the company as a project manager.
* Trafalgar House Residential Maryland said Karen Brown of Ellicott City has joined the firm as a sales representative at Willowood, a townhouse community in Elkridge, and Paul Gregory of Baltimore has taken a similar position at Mayfair, a community of single-family homes near Towson.
