Ericia Turner scored 14 points to lead visiting North Carolina A&T; to a 59-40 victory over Coppin State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game yesterday.
The Aggies (16-7, 11-2) jumped to a 12-0 lead and had a 26-13 halftime cushion. The Eagles (11-13, 6-6) made only three of 20 field goals in the opening half.
With a 13-0 run, Coppin State closed to 37-33 with 8:12 remaining in the game. Coppin State was within 43-36 with 4:55 left, but Turner scored six of North Carolina A&T;'s final 14 points.
Rene Doctor and Delora Walker led Coppin State with nine each.
* Gettysburg 66, Western Maryland 64: Ann Hymes scored with 13 seconds left to cap a Gettysburg rally and clinch a Centennial Conference playoff berth as the Bullets (19-3, 11-3) edged Western Maryland (14-10, 9-5).
Hymes made a 10-foot jumper to put Gettysburg ahead 65-64. After a Western Maryland turnover, the Bullets' Steph Dravis was fouled and made the front end of a one-and-one with four seconds remaining.
Western Maryland rebounded the miss on the second shot, but was out of timeouts and could not get a shot off before the buzzer.
Erin Murphey (Francis Scott Key) led Western Maryland with 14 points. Freshman Katie Haley had 13 points, nine rebounds and six steals.
* Johns Hopkins 70, Dickinson 58: Angie Arnold scored 15 points and Karen Hoffman and Amy Dodrill each added 11 as Johns Hopkins (19-5, 12-2) defeated host Dickinson (14-9, 9-5) in a Centennial Conference West division game.
* Mount St. Mary's 69, Rider 48: Nikki Schroyer led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points and nine rebounds as Mount St. Mary's (17-5, 14-1) defeated Rider (12-11, 7-8) for its 11th consecutive victory.
Heather Wable scored 12 and Susie Rowlyk added 10 for the Mountaineers.
* South Carolina State 73, Morgan State 54: Renee Walker scored 18 points as visiting South Carolina State beat Morgan State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game. Tanya Williams led Morgan State with 17.
* Catholic 86, St. Mary's 54: Martha Cleary scored a school-record 39 points on a school-best seven three-pointers as Catholic University (10-12) downed visiting St. Mary's (5-16).
Tricia Kilroy had 13 points and eight rebounds for St. Mary's, which shot 22 percent in the second half.
* Goucher 70, Salisbury State 62: Despite shooting 35.6 percent from the field, Goucher defeated Salisbury State in a Capital Athletic Conference game. Melissa Paretti led Goucher (16-8, 11-3) with 20 points and Cassandra Clemons pulled down 11 rebounds.
Amy Fenzel led Salisbury State (19-5, 12-2) with 19 points.
* Washington 71, Bryn Mawr 47: Lee Ann Lezzer (Old Mill) scored 19 points and Eboni Taylor added 18 and 11 rebounds, leading host Washington College (12-12, 7-8) past Bryn Mawr (1-18, 0-14) in a Centennial Conference game.
Mary Constantino scored 16 to lead Bryn Mawr.
