Girl, 17, killed in crash driver is hospitalized

A 17-year-old Landover girl died early yesterday after a car in which she was riding ran off U.S. 1 and hit a utility pole, Prince George's County police said.

Lynella Ashton of the 2200 block of Oregon Ave. was killed, and the driver, Weslynne Ashton, 20, was in serious condition at Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly. Police said the crash occurred near Tuckerman Street and Baltimore Avenue.
