Broadneck's Kazmarek gets 200th win, 86-59

Coach Ken Kazmarek captured his 200th win last night as No. 10-ranked Broadneck (17-2) cruised to an 86-59 victory over host Northeast (3-17).

Jason Smith scored 18 to lead five Broadneck players in double figures.

Jamaine Young had 17, Josh Grover had 12, John Williams had 11 and Mike Tasker added 10 for the Bruins, who trailed 15-10 after the first quarter but outscored Northeast 31-7 in the second quarter to build a 41-22 lead.

Delray Brooks paced Northeast with 11.

* Calvert Hall 74, Towson Catholic 57: Vince Williams score 18 as No. 7 Calvert Hall (23-8) beat visiting Towson Catholic. Juan TC Dixon and John McKay each added 14 points for the Cardinals.

Alibe Robertson led Towson Catholic with 12 points.

* Atholton 78, Centennial 65: Brian Benden scored 21 and D. J. Chiles had 20 to lead No. 11 Atholton (19-1) past visiting Centennial (9-11).

Tim Kontaxis led Centennial with 19 and Kevin O'Connor added 13.

* C. Milton Wright 53, Bel Air 37: Chris Rueckert scored 18 to lead No. 19 C. Milton Wright (15-5)

over host Bel Air (11-9). Pete Troilo added 13 for the Mustangs.

* Gibbons 69, Loyola 59: Reggie Jones scored 17 and Michael Simmons added 15 as Gibbons (18-12) defeated host Loyola (15-12).

Matt Neumayer led Loyola with 16 points and eight rebounds.

* Boys' Latin 86, Park 68: Mike DiLonardo and Wes Lovell each scored 20 to lead host Boys' Latin (16-9) over Park (13-6).

DiLonardo grabbed seven rebounds and Lovell had three assists.

* North County 80, Chesapeake-AA 59: Derek Booth scored 14 and Maurice Bowie added 13 as host North County (12-8) defeated Chesapeake-AA (2-18). Lou Brown had eight assists and seven steals for the Knights.

John Jenkins led the Cougars with 23 points.

* South River 64, Southern-AA 57: Russell Tongue scored 19 and Corey Davis added 18 as South River defeated visiting $l Southern-AA (7-13).

Dough Lawson led Southern with 17 points and Scott Crandell grabbed 10 rebounds.

* Old Mill 68, Severna Park 60: Joe Barnes scored 20 as Old Mill (11-8) defeated visiting Severna Park (4-16). Jeff LeFevre added 14 points for the Patriots.

Jon Briggs scored 19 and Todd Batty added 15 for the Falcons.

* Spalding 109, Mount Carmel 71: Charles Ross scored 17 and grabbed 12 rebounds as host Spalding (11-13) won. Chad Langville added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers.

Bob Morris led Mount Carmel with 18 points.

* Edmondson 84, Patterson 75: Terrell Smith scored a game-high 37 points as Edmondson (11-10) defeated host Patterson. James Sumter added 17 points for the Redskins.

Andre Poole led Patterson with 25 points.

* Owings Mills 53, Catonsville 52: Cory Zajdel scored 17 to lead Owings Mills (9-11) over visiting Catonsville. Dave Mize added 11 points for the Eagles.

Tremayne Littlejohn scored a game-high 25 points for the Comets.

The Eagles, who trailed 40-39 after three quarters, outscored Catonsville 14-12 in the fourth quarter.

* Forest Park 96, Mervo 94: Charles Owens totaled 41 points, one shy of his career high, as Forest Park (3-16) topped host Mervo in overtime.

Lemuel Foster added 15 for the Foresters. Kevin Harper led Mervo with 24. * St. Mary's 66, Lutheran 44: Taron Jones scored 17 and John Cannelli added 15 to lead host St. Mary's (13-9) over visiting Lutheran (5-17).

Jones also grabbed 14 rebounds and Cannelli handed out five assists.

* Fallston 50, North Harford 46: Kernan Kelly hit two free throws with five seconds left to secure Fallston's victory over North Harford. Kelly led Fallston with 15 points.

* Curley 50, Friends 49: Host Curley took its first lead of the game with 22 seconds to play in a victory over Friends. Jason Karokowski led Curley with 17 points. Bob Michel led Friends with 18.

* Havre de Grace 60, Joppatowne 52: Eric Briggs scored 15 to pace host Havre de Grace (9-8) past Joppatowne (8-9). John Sawyer added 11 for the Warriors.

* Harford Tech 63, Harford Christian 60: Pete Surette scored 21 as Harford Tech downed host Harford Christian. * Granite Baptist 63, Carroll Christian 53: Ben Baab had 25 points and eight steals to lead Granite Baptist (13-6) over visiting Carroll Christian (11-5) in the semifinal of the PCAC tournament.
