Thomas Valando, 72, a music publisher, backer of Broadway musicals and owner of the racehorse Fly So Free, died of pneumonia Tuesday in Palm Beach, Fla. Musicals he backed include "Fiddler on the Roof," "Cabaret," "Godspell" and "Sunday in the Park With George." In 1989, he paid $80,000 for Fly So Free, who went on to win $2.5 million.
Frederick Fuller, 86, a singer, writer and teacher, died Feb. 3 at his home in Eastbourne, England. A baritone, he was known for his sensitive interpretations of lesser-known vocal works.
Janina Domanska, 82, an author and illustrator of children's books, died Feb. 2 at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Fla., after a stroke.
Al H. Kolakowski, 51, a Delta Air Lines executive who helped put together the Worldspan computerized airline reservation system, died of cancer Monday in Fayetteville, Ga.
