BOWIE -- Washington Bullets center Kevin Duckworth yesterday completed his second practice since being suspended two weeks ago for being out of shape, saying afterward, "I feel good."
However, it's uncertain when the team will activate Duckworth, who has been suspended without pay since Feb. 3, when he weighed in at more than 320 pounds.
"I have to go by what I see," coach Jim Ly- nam said when asked of a target date for Duckworth's return. "He's only practiced twice, so I'm not sure it's fair to judge."
Duckworth, who joined the team in Minneapolis for practice Monday after the All-Star break, is losing $31,829 a game, based on a salary that pays him $2.61 million this season. He has filed a grievance with the NBA Players Association.
Lynam, who has seen Duckworth twice in the past two weeks, said he's not sure if the center has lost any weight since the suspension began.
"I think he's expended a lot of energy," Lynam said. "The fact of the matter is the [weight] is an extra burden for him. He doesn't get the same lift in the basket area. It hurts his shooting and rebounding."
NOTES: Chris Webber was not at practice because he had to take an insurance physical. . . . Brian Oliver's 10-game contract ran out. The Bullets will decide today whether to sign Oliver to another 10-day deal.
