He was pronounced dead at the scene by the crew of a city fire department ambulance.
Police said the man did not live in the house and that his name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of his family, left a tavern shortly after 9 p.m. and was walking toward his car to retrieve some property when one of two men who were seen walking behind him shot him at least once, police said.
The gunman and his accomplice fled.
Western District police responding to a report of a shooting found the victim lying near his car and summoned an ambulance, which took him to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
