WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Wes Cooper and Michael Heary scored 15 points each to lead Navy over Army, 78-69, in a Patriot League game last night.
The victory was the sixth in a row for the Midshipmen (16-8, 8-4) and seventh in a row over Army (11-12, 4-8).
Army lost before a Christl Arena record crowd of 5,039, just the second sellout in the 10-year history of the facility.
Mark Lueking's three-point play gave Army a 50-49 lead in the second half and his driving layup put the Cadets in front 56-53 with 8:00 to play.
But a 16-foot jumper by Brian Walker started an 11-0 run that gave Navy a 64-56 lead with five minutes left.
Lueking, who is ninth in the nation in scoring (24.4), led Army with 20 points. Alex Morris added 11 points and four assists.
