Police arrested two 17-year-olds -- one from Pasadena, the other from Millersville -- about noon Friday and charged them with destruction of property.
Neighbors called police after the youths drove through several front yards on Hartman Drive, police said. The youths were trapped in one yard when police arrived.
Police said the driver admitted smashing 49 mailboxes in the neighborhoods on South Drive, North Drive, Arundel Beach Road and Yorkshire Drive on Jan. 1 and Jan. 20. The passenger also confessed to smashing mailboxes, police said.
Both youths agreed to replace or reimburse the victims for the damages, police said.
