Charles Steinberg, the Orioles' public relations director and a member of the club's front office for 19 years, is leaving to go to work for the San Diego Padres.
Steinberg will be the Padres' vice president for public affairs. The move reunites him with former Orioles president Larry Lucchino, who recently took over as Padres president.
Steinberg, 36, who began working for the Orioles as a high school intern, also had served as director of Orioles productions and public affairs director.
bTC He is the third Orioles official to accept a job with the Padres recently. The others are Baker Koppelman, who worked in the ticket office, and Louie Ruvane, a sales representative.
