State, county and town officials are sponsoring a public hearing on improvements to Obrecht Road.
The hearing is at 7 p.m. today at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 7560 Main St., Sykesville.
Officials will discuss options for improving access to Route 32 from the much-traveled road.
An extension of Obrecht to Third Avenue and through town to the highway or a realignment around the north end of Fairhaven Retirement Community are two options Sykesville is considering.
The town, which voted nearly two years ago to support the realignment, now is pushing for both projects.
After the hearing, the Town Council will meet for its regular
session.
