The Lineboro Volunteer Fire Department recently had its annual awards banquet.
Robert Sterner was given the Firefighter of the Year award for his active service through the years. A fire lieutenant in 1994 and a pump operator, he responded to 82 ambulance calls and 152 fire calls and has 107 hours of specialized training.
Top responders to fire calls in 1994 were: John Krebs, 215; Kevin Dickmyer, 171; Jeff Mayle, 156; Robert Sterner, 152; and Mike Buckley, 141, who also had the most ambulance responses, 122.
The Ladies Auxiliary presented a check for $5,000 to the company toward the purchase of a new rescue tool.
Administrative officers are: president, Tom Ecker; first vice president, Linus Saurusaitis; second vice president, Tim Warehime; secretary, Carol Myers, and assistant, Kim Fox; financial secretary, Dawn Ecker; treasurer, Carol Haney, and assistant, Marianne Warehime; chaplain, Fred Dickmyer; historian, Jim Buckley.
New trustees are: Levere Kopp, Randy Fuhrman, Joe D'Antoni, Robert Sterner and John Warner. The executive committee includes Dave Green and Marianne Warehime.
Fire line officers are: chief, John Krebs; first assistant chief, John Warner; second assistant chief, Joe D'Antoni; captain, Robert Sterner; first lieutenant, Jack Stone; second lieutenant, Mike Buckley; and chief engineer, Charles Myers.
Emergency Medical Services officers are: captain, John Haney; first lieutenant, Linus Saurusaitis; second lieutenant, Wayne Short; and third lieutenant, Matt Blosser.

Hampstead: Engines from Hampstead and Arcadia were dispatched to a building in the 700 block of Hanover Pike to investigate the report of an automatic alarm sounding at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Units were canceled after one minute.
Lineboro: Units responded to a brush fire on Lineboro Road at 6:37 p.m. Thursday. They were out for 15 minutes.
Manchester: Engines from Manchester, Hampstead and Lineboro were dispatched to a chimney fire on Grafton Street at 6:35 p.m. Thursday. Units were out for one hour.
