An Elkridge man was arrested Wednesday night on charges of stealing $220 worth of shirts from a Hecht's department store in Marley Station mall, county police said.
Jeffrey E. Hagan, a security officer at the store, saw the man in the men's department of the store about 8:15 p.m. The man put four shirts worth $55 each into an empty Hecht's bag and left the store without paying for them, according to a police report. Mr. Hagan and another security officer stopped the man and held him until a Northern District officer arrived and placed him in custody.
Kareem Dorian Bryant, 19, of the 6300 block of Virginia Pine Lane, was charged with misdemeanor theft, police said.

* Glen Burnie: Someone used a step ladder to climb onto the rear deck of a home in the 200 block of Turnwood Dr., Wednesday, break a kitchen window and unlock it to get in and steal $260 in coins, county police said.
