Mount St. Mary's women handle LIU for 8th in row, 74-56 STATE

Heather Wable scored 20 points and Susie Roylyk added 19 to lead Mount St. Mary's to a 74-56 win over host Long Island University in a Northeast Conference women's game last night.

Mount St. Mary's (14-5, 11-1) has won eight straight. Long Island (4-16, 3-9) has lost six in a row.

* Goucher 73, Holy Family 68: Didi Cotton (Western) scored 17 and Alice Kennedy added 16, leading Goucher (13-7) past Holy Family (16-12) in overtime.

Goucher went on a 9-0 run in overtime to build a 72-63 lead. Erin Eliasen led Holy Family with a game-high 24 points.

* Bethune-Cookman 66, Coppin State 51: Scherrie Jackson scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Bethune-Cookman (5-14, 2-9) over visiting Coppin State (10-11, 7-4) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game.

* Johns Hopkins 67, Swarthmore 46: Julie Anderson scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, leading Johns Hopkins (16-5, 9-2) past Swarthmore (9-12, 4-8) in a Centennial Conference game.

* Florida A&M; 74, Morgan State 55: Cathy Robinson scored 16 points as Florida A&M; (16-5) defeated visiting Morgan State (4-15).

Men

* Goucher 95, Mary Washington 74: Gerard Garlic (Catonsville) scored 21 and David Clark (Catonsville) added 16 and five assists, leading visiting Goucher (13-8, 7-4) past Mary Washington (8-12, 7-5) in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

* Catholic 97, Salisbury State 82: Visiting Catholic (12-9, 7-4) beat Salisbury State (10-11, 5-6) in a Capital Athletic Conference game despite 31 points by the Sea Gulls' Casey Musick (Cardinal Gibbons).
