Two Baltimore men and a Woodlawn woman were arrested yesterday after a security guard shot out the tires of a vehicle fleeing a bank in Rodgers Forge where a man had tried to cash a stolen check, Baltimore County police said.

Around 11 a.m., a man walked into a NationsBank in the 6700 block of York Road and attempted to cash a check, police said.

The teller checked the bank computer, determined that the check had been stolen and talked to the bank manager, said Officer Katheryn H. Kraemer of the Towson Precinct who investigated.

When the man left, a bank security guard followed him. The man jumped into a pickup truck and started to drive away. The security guard, who was not identified by police, fired three shots at the vehicle, said Officer Kraemer.

The shots blew out two tires on the left side and a left rear quarter panel. The guard stopped the vehicle on Murdock Road, west of York Road.

While the guard held one man at gunpoint for police, a second man and a woman fled on foot.

A 22-year-old Northwest Baltimore man and a 27-year-old Woodlawn woman were arrested around noon at a bus stop at York Road and Lake Avenue, police said. The pair, and a 30-year-old Northeast Baltimore man were taken to the Towson Precinct lockup where they were being questioned.
