In honor of Black History Month, the Fort George G. Meade Museum is continuing its tradition of giving out free posters titled "A Salute to the Black Soldiers of the United States Army."
Since 1986, the museum has been distributing the 11-by-17-inch ink-sketch posters that depict six black soldiers from different eras from 1781 to 1968. The former museum curator, Allen Archambault, designed and sketched the drawing.
Posters must be obtained in person. The museum, in Building 4674 on Griffin Avenue, is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays to Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Driver arrested on drug charges
A dirty car with a clean license tag prompted a county officer to make a traffic stop Monday night that led to the arrest of an Odenton man on drug charges, authorities said.
Western District Officer Debra Arduini was on routine patrol around 11 p.m. and driving south on Telegraph Road near Route 175. She noticed a 1971 Chevrolet Nova that had no rear-view mirror and a tag considerably cleaner than the car, police said.
Officer Arduini made a computer check and found the tag did not belong to the Chevrolet. She followed the car east on Odenton Road until it pulled into a gas station near Higgins Drive.
She approached the driver, who gave her permission to search him and the car. She reported finding a bag containing 24 grams of marijuana, a film canister containing partially smoked marijuana cigarettes and a pipe on the suspect, along with a glass vial with cocaine residue in the glove compartment. All of the drugs field-tested positive, police said.
David Wayne Clark, 35, of the 1300 block of Pine St. was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
