Man charged in struggle with officer at restaurant

An Edgewater man was arrested Saturday after he struggled with an officer who tried to get him to leave a restaurant in the 100 block of Mayo Road, police said.

Officer Jerome Clark went to Lou's Woodland Restaurant at 2 p.m. to investigate a complaint of trespassing and disorderly conduct. The bartender pointed out a man who had been told by management and police to stay out of the restaurant.

The man cursed Officer Clark, twisted the officer's left arm to keep from being handcuffed and tried to slap him, police said. The suspect fell into a brick wall and cut his forehead after being handcuffed, they said.

Alan Brady, 36, of the 300 block of Salisbury St. received four stitches at Anne Arundel Medical Center and was released. Police charged him with battery on a police officer.
