Glen Burnie man wards off robbers

A Glen Burnie man escaped an attempted robbery Saturday afternoon by breaking his attacker's choke hold and kicking the man in the chest, county police said.

Danny Dawkins, 39, was driving on New Freetown Road about 1:30 p.m. when two men flagged him down. He agreed to give the men a lift to Mountain Road. One of the men got in the back seat and the other sat in the front passenger seat, police said.

When they reached the 7900 block of New Freetown Road, the man in the passenger seat demanded money from Mr. Dawkins, who immediately stopped his car.
