Predrag Durkovic scored 24 points and had nine rebounds, leading host Goucher past St. Mary's, 86-77, in a Capital Athletic Conference game yesterday.
Leading 47-42 at halftime, Goucher (12-8, 6-4) opened the second half with a 10-0 run to extend its lead to 57-42 with 17:24 remaining. St. Mary's (6-13, 3-8) rallied, closing to within 77-75 with 4:11 left, but Goucher scored nine of the game's final 11 points.
LeAndre Marshall added 12 points for Goucher. Andy Benincasa led St. Mary's with 17.
* Western Maryland 83, Dickinson 74: Steve Dziengeleski scored a career-high 18 points to lead five Western Maryland players in double figures in its Centennial Conference win over Dickinson (6-14, 2-7).
Dickinson trimmed a 69-60 deficit to two at 73-71 on a Nate Brought three-point play with 2:11 remaining. Will Marshall (Sparrows Point) scored at the 1:46 mark to stretch Western Maryland's advantage to four, and the Red Devils then misfired on their next three possessions.
Western Maryland converted eight consecutive free throws in the final 1:02, finishing the game hitting on 26 of 28 overall and all 22 of its second-half attempts.
Daeviid St. Rose (Patapsco) added 16 points for Western Maryland.
* Muhlenberg 88, Washington 62: Ernie Koschineg scored 20 points and Chris Redell added 19, leading host Muhlenberg (12-8, 5-4) past Washington College (11-9, 5-4).
Mike Gramer added 18 points for Muhlenberg, which outscored Washington 54-32 in the second half. Ben Harris led Washington with 18 points and Brad Burkhart had 14.
* Baltimore CCC 126, Burlington (N.J.) CC 82: Shae Johnson scored 28 points to lead six players in double figures as Baltimore City Community College (15-6) defeated visiting Burlington Community College of New Jersey.
Warren Wright (Mervo) scored 25 points and Damien Rhodes had 17 for Baltimore. Josh Morgan led Burlington (1-20) with a game-high 30 points.
