* Sykesville: Sykesville engines assisted Howard County at a building fire in the 2400 block of Route 97 at 8:33 a.m. Friday. Units were out for 30 minutes.
POLICE
* Sykesville: A resident of the 7400 block of Village Ave. reported to state police someone stole his 1982 Ford Mustang GT while it was parked near his apartment Thursday. The auto contained a Kenwood stereo system and the total loss was valued at $7,200.
