Heather Wable had 18 points and six rebounds to lead Mount St. Mary's to an 86-63 victory over Robert Morris in a Northeast Conference game yesterday.
Maureen O'Hare led the Colonials (7-11, 5-6) with a game-high 19 points and six rebounds.
The Colonials got to within 49-39 with 15:24 remaining in the game, but Mount St. Mary's (13-5, 10-1) pulled away with a nine-point run that made it 58-39 with 12:22 remaining.
Susie Rowlyk added 14 and six rebounds for Mount St. Mary's. Shari DeLaney scored 13 -- 10 in the first half -- as Mount St. Mary's had a 45-28 halftime advantage.
* Howard 64, Coppin State 57: Alisha Hill scored 18 points as visiting Howard (10-8, 8-2) held off Coppin State (10-10, 7-3) to gain sole possession of first in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Denique Graves added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Howard, which had a 16-point second-half lead closed to seven with 2:25 left. The Bisons made seven of 11 free throws in the final 2:11.
Lisa Briggs led Coppin State with 16 points and Natasha Parks had 14.
* Johns Hopkins 74, Franklin & Marshall 48: Karen Hoffman scored 18 points and had six assists, leading host Johns Hopkins (15-5, 8-2) past Franklin & Marshall (11-7, 6-4) in a Centennial Conference game.
* Navy 54, Lafayette 39: Kate Wells scored 13 points and had six assists, leading Navy (10-10, 6-3) past visiting Lafayette (1-19, 1-8) for its third straight victory.
The six league wins are the most for Navy since joining the Patriot League four seasons ago.
Up 27-22 with 14:14 to play in the game, Navy went on an 8-0 run to lead 35-22 with just over 10 minutes remaining. Adi Schneck scored 12 points and Becky Dowling added 11 points and 13 rebounds for Navy, which has beaten Lafayette four straight times.
* Bowie State 86, Wesley 45: Brandey Lemons scored 16 points in Bowie State's nonconference win over Wesley (6-15). Yetisha Mackey (Lake Clifton) added 14 points, six steals and three assists for Bowie State (16-4); teammate Kelly Evans (Western) had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
* Gettysburg 82, College of Notre Dame 74: Anne Hymes scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds as host Gettysburg (16-1) topped the College of Notre Dame (8-9). Jennifer Chaney had 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Gators.
* Frostburg State 65, Chowan College 51: Shelly Ridgeway scored 15 points as host Frostburg State defeated Chowan College. The Bobcats (13-5) got 12 points and 12 rebounds from Kim McMorris, and 10 points and 11 assists from Kara Reed.
