* George Day has filed an application with the Anne Arundel County Board of Liquor License Commissioners for a retail liquor license at a tavern located near Severna Park. The petition is vigorously opposed by the Round Bay Community, Inc. which stated that the tavern would be patronized by non-residents given the low number of colored people in the section. -- The Sun, March 20, 1945.

* Del. A. N. Woodfield of Anne Arundel County, chairman of the Chesapeake Bay and Tributaries Committee, cited a single catch of 120,000 pounds of rock fish caught in one net on the Potomac River to defeat a bill which would permit the use of power boats in hauling fish nets. -- The Sun, March 22, 1945.
