* Cherrytown: A resident of Old Hanover Road told state police someone entered her home Tuesday and stole a videocassette recorder, a gold necklace and a .22-caliber rifle. There was no forced entry, investigators said. The theft was estimated at $430.

* Westminster: A resident of Hillside Court reported to city police that someone broke into her car Tuesday while it was parked on East Main Street and stole property worth $150.

A resident of Manchester told city police that someone broke into her car while it was parked on Carroll Street Tuesday and stole property worth $84.

FIRE

* Westminster: Westminster and Reese were dispatched to a chimney fire in the 800 block of Lucabaugh Mill Road at 8:49 p.m. Tuesday. Units were out for 31 minutes.

Pleasant Valley responded to a cleanup detail after an auto accident at Route 140 and Baugher Road at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Units were out for 22 minutes.
