A Pasadena teen-ager escaped injury Tuesday night when he drove away from a group of youths who had surrounded his car and begun taunting him, county police said yesterday. Someone in the group fired a pellet gun, shattering the driver's side window, police said.
Scott Franklin Roelecke, 17, left work at the Robins Nest Carryout in the 2400 block of Mountain Road about 10 p.m. and entered his 1993 Ford Mustang, parked in the rear lot of the store. At least five youths surrounded the car, began taunting the teen and dared him to get out of the car, police said.
One youth opened the driver's door and another stood in front of the car, police reported. The Roelecke teen drove off and the youth standing in front of the car placed his hands on the hood and pushed himself out of the way, police said.
The teen tried to close the door as he drove off, and someone shot at the window with a pellet gun and shattered it, police reported.
