Millions of daffodils, one of the first flower of spring and a symbol of hope, are available each year from the American Cancer Society.
This year, the society will sell them in bunches of 10, with a minimum purchase of five bunches for a suggested donation of $35. They can be delivered March 15 or March 16. Vases also are available.
A small donation buys a cheery bunch of flowers and the warm feeling of knowing your money helps provide research grants, free public education and local patient services. More than 74 cents of every dollar spent by the society in 1992-1993 went directly to fight cancer.
Orders must be placed by Feb. 22. Call (410) 721-4304.
