Navy holds on, tops Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- Brian Walker scored 13 points and had 10 assists and Wes Cooper added 12 points, lifting Navy to a 65-60 victory over Richmond in a nonconference game last night.

Jim Hamilton hit a three-pointer with 7.5 seconds remaining to seal the win for the Midshipmen (11-8) and send the Spiders (4-14) to their eighth straight defeat.

The Midshipmen played without leading scorer Michael Heary (13.7 ppg), who suffered a broken nose during practice Sunday.
