A Severna Park woman was in serious condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after suffering head injuries when her car crashed into a garage Wednesday evening, county police said.
Mary Gertrude Kerchner, 71, of the first block of Giddings Ave. was traveling east on her street in her 1993 Buick Regal shortly before 6:30 p.m. Her car ran off the left side of the road, authorities said.
She went through two front yards, hitting several small trees and a boat. The car continued through the yard of a house in the first block of Beach Road, then through a garage door, hitting a wall inside. Ms. Kerchner was trapped inside the car until fire department personnel freed her, police said.
