The Howard County Striders is offering two $500 John Scherer Scholarships, named for a Glenelg High School track star and NCAA champion.
The scholarships will be awarded to graduating Howard County high school seniors who have competed in either cross-country or track at the varsity level, have outstanding academic credentials and have demonstrated leadership ability. Scholarships will be awarded to a male and a female runner.
Application may be obtained from the school guidance counselor. The application deadline is April 15.
