Gamber and Community Fire Company recently held a banquet to install officers and to honor the station's volunteers.
Awards went to:
* Mike Franklin, the Gerald L. Lindsay Memorial Firefighter of the Year.
* Daniel Jones, Ambulance Attendant of the Year.
* Robert Klinefelter, Administrative Member of the Year.
* Ronald Green, Outgoing Ambulance Captain's Award. Mr. Green stepped down after four years.
* Charles Daniel Green Jr., Junior Firefighter of the Year for being a member in good standing, completing training and attending fund-raisers.
* Jeannine Green and Chrissy Green, certificates of recognition for their work with fund-raisers, the Junior Fire Company and other areas.
* Eva Brothers, a plaque for her work on fund-raisers.
* C. Daniel Green Sr., a 20-year service pin.
The Junior Fire Company presented a check for $2,000 to Fire Chief Richard Green for the purchase of gas detection equipment.
Officers for 1995 are: president, Edward Kreczmer; first vice president, Calvin Brothers; second vice president, Robert Klinefelter; recording secretary, Robin Chenoweth; corresponding secretary, Jeannie Green; treasurer, Charles Sanders; sergeant-at-arms, Mike Franklin.
Line officers are: Chief Green and Arthur Frotton, ambulance captain.
Board members are: Arthur Brauning, James Stickles, Daniel Jones, John Warner and Edward Yingling.
Auxiliary officers are: president, Belle Stickles; vice president, Virginia Brothers; secretary, Rose Pandolfini; treasurer, Betty Arnold; financial secretary, Cheryl Hill; chaplain, Dolly Duvall; historian, Sandy Mertz; purchasing agent, Dot Waltz.
Junior Fire Company officers are: president, Charlie Green; vice president, Nick Thompson; secretary, Jeff King; treasurer, Jessica Stickles; captain, Michael Green; lieutenant, Tracey Davis.
The top three responders for fire calls were: Richard Green Sr., 219; Michael Shawver, 193; and Edward Yingling, 192.
The top three ambulance call responders were: Arthur Frotton, 174; Mark McKinney, 172; and Danny Jones, 160.
POLICE
* Eldersburg: Someone cut a lock on a truck Monday and stole equipment valued at $6,385 from American Carpentry Corp. in the 6300 block of Sykesville Road. A generator, a compressor, a hammer drill, saws and a nail gun were taken.
FIRE
* Eldersburg: Sykesville units responded to a house fire on Liberty Ridge Court at 5:19 p.m. Friday. Units were out 20 minutes.
