Burglars broke into a Gambrills home Tuesday, stole more than $1,500 worth of electronic equipment and broke the screen of an $1,800 large screen projection television, county police said.

The thieves broke a rear glass door of a home in the 2200 block of Four Seasons Drive between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The resident, Richard Allen Schott, 26, told police that two videocassette recorders, a compact disc player, a fax machine, a cordless telephone, a cable box and a Super Nintendo system were taken.

The thieves also spray-painted the family room carpet, police said.
