Terps women falter in 2nd half, fall to N.C. State, 68-45

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Guard Tammy Gibson scored 14 points to power North Carolina State past Maryland, 68-45, in ACC women's basketball action last night.

N.C. State (6-3, 1-0) shot 47.6 percent from the field, 17.4 better than Maryland (7-4, 0-1).

The Wolfpack extended its 27-18 halftime lead by outscoring the Terps 41-27 in the second half.

Maryland's only double-digit scorer, Stephanie Cross, led all scorers with 15. Muriel Davis and Quicha Floyd each added 12 for the Wolfpack.
