Frederick J. Sullivan, president of A-1 Insurance Agency Inc., died Dec. 24 at home in Baltimore after a lengthy illness. He was 67.

He was also a Realtor and a past director of the Baltimore Association of Insurance Agents.

The lifelong Baltimore resident earned degrees in art and law from the University of Baltimore. During World War II, he was an infantryman with the 3rd Army in Europe.

Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Maryland Yacht Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Patapsco River Power Squadron.

Services were held Tuesday .

He is survived by his wife, the former Petronel B. Guest; and two brothers, Lawrence Sullivan of Baltimore and James Sullivan of Shingle Springs, Calif. Carroll B. Palmer Sr., a retired tool and die maker, died Dec. 24 at his Spring Hill, Fla., home of emphysema. He was 70.

He retired in 1979 from Black & Decker U.S. Inc. and moved from Black Horse, Harford County, with his wife, Ruth, to Palm Harbor, Fla., then to Spring Hill.

He was born in Black Horse and graduated from Jarrettsville High School. He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1658 of Palm Harbor and the 84th Infantry Division Railsplitters Society.

Services were held in Florida.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Ben Palmer of Spring Hill and Bill Palmer of Parkton; three daughters, Neal Massey of Rockville, Adrian Vansickel of Towson and Michelle Kelley of Frederick; two sisters, Virginia Morrison of Bel Air and Ada Hawk of Okeechobee, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
