LaDranda Pierce still cares about her husband, despite all he's done.
True, she feels hurt and cheated by his lies. She wants Vernon Pierce to explain why he went on a marrying spree last spring, wedding three other women in three months.
"I still have feelings for him, that's why I feel betrayed," LaDranda said yesterday.
LaDranda said every time she thinks she's over Vernon, something stirs up the old feelings. It happened again Tuesday, when Mr. Pierce turned himself in to Glendale, Ariz., police, who had issued a warrant on bigamy charges. He was released on $1,500 bail.
"I really want to know why, why he did it," LaDranda said.
LaDranda didn't find out about the other wives until she received a mysterious phone call from Vernon last summer, giving her phone numbers and suggesting she call them.
"I got the shock of my life," she said.
"I was just totally confused and lost as far as that was concerned."
