* BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A green and red South American tropical bird valued at $800 was stolen from an apartment in the 5800 block of Hillen Road Tuesday by someone who entered through the front door.

* ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 2600 block of St. Benedict St. was walking near her home Tuesday when two men stole her purse containing cash and property, all of unknown value.

* CAB HOLDUP: Southwestern District -- A driver for Diamond cab was robbed of $40 by a gunman in the 1900 block of Hilton Parkway Tuesday.

* ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1800 block of Clifton Ave. was in the 2500 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway Tuesday night when a gunman robbed him of is 10-speed mountain bike valued at nearly $120.

* ROBBERY: Western District -- A youth was riding his mountain bike near his home in the 1800 block of Warwick Ave. Tuesday night when an older teen-ager struck him with his hands and stole the bike, valued at more than $100.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A tan 1989 Acura Legend with tags SGA 272 was stolen Tuesday from the 200 block of Cross Keys Road.

* THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a car parked in the 1000 block of W. 41st St. Tuesday and stole stereo equipment valued at nearly $800.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- Police were seeking a two-door 1994 Plymouth Sundance with tags BVX 418 that was stolen Tuesday from the 4200 block of Falls Road.

* THEFT: Northern District -- A compact disc player, tuxedo and a costume, all valued at more than $500, were stolen from a car parked in the 600 block of Parkwyrth Ave.

* STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A Burgundy 1986 Nissan Maxima with tags 717 AWH was stolen Tuesday from the 5200 block of Western Run Drive.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man was in the 4800 block of Belle Ave. Tuesday morning when he was robbed of $15 by a man armed with a knife.

BALTIMORE COUNTY

* SHOOTINGS: Essex Precinct -- Police were seeking at least one gunman in connection with the shooting of two men near the intersection of Byway South and Fenway South Tuesday night. One victim, a 21-year-old resident of the the first block of Byway North, was shot in the back and buttocks as he exited a car around 9:40 p.m.. The second victim, a resident of the 4200 block of Barner Road, was standing near a telephone booth and was shot in the back. It was not immediately known if the shootings were related. Both victims were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital. No arrest had been made and police knew of no motive for the shootings.

* THEFT/ARREST: North Point Precinct -- Police arrested a 41-year-old resident of the 3500 block of Cokesbury Road in Abingdon, Harford County, who attempted to return a boxed, used and broken TV to the Sears store in the 7800 block of Eastern Blvd. in exchange for the cost of a new TV. The man told a salesperson the TV he was returning was one of two he received for Christmas and that he wanted a cash refund. An examination of the TV indicated it was a different model and was used and broken.

* BURGLARY: North Point Precinct -- Someone entered an enclosed area of the Kmart store in the 200 block of North Point Blvd. overnight Monday after cutting out a section of a fence and stole two book cases, 60 clay flower pots, paper products, three pieces of indoor/outdoor furniture, trash cans and other items, all valued at more than $1,800.

* STOLEN CAR: North Point Precinct -- A blue 1995 GMC Sonoma pickup truck valued at nearly $14,000 and with no tags was stolen from Penn Pontiac in the first block of Kane St. last week.

HARFORD COUNTY

* BURGLARY: Jarrettsville -- Someone entered the Jarrettsville pharmacy in the 3700 block of Norrisville Road through the front door Tuesday and stole cash, postage stamps and an undisclosed quantity of drugs, all valued at $3,000.
