Man held on rape, other charges in Westminster case

A man was held on $100,000 bond on rape, assault and other sex offense charges in an incident on Wimert Avenue in Westminster about midnight Saturday.

Anthony Wade Myers, 32, of the 5700 block of Hodges Road in Eldersburg was arrested in the 300 block of E. Main St. in Westminster a short time after city police received a compliant.

Police charged Mr. Myers with second-degree rape, fourth-degree sex offense and assault and battery. He was also charged with possession of cocaine and paraphernalia.

Bond was set by a District Court commissioner, police said.

* Westminster: A resident of Liberty Street reported to city police that someone entered her auto and stole personal property while the vehicle was parked in front of her house Monday. She estimated the theft at $1,000.

An official of Crawford Corp. on West Main Street told city police someone threw a bottle through the front window of the business office Saturday. The damage was estimated at $300.

A resident of Charles Street reported to city police that someone stole a portable phone from his auto while it was parked near his home Saturday. He estimated the theft at $40.

A resident of East Green Street told city police someone broke into her auto and stole items Friday. She estimated the theft at $700.

A resident of East Main Street reported to city police that someone scratched his auto while it was parked near his house Friday. The damage was estimated at $150.

A resident of Chase Street told city police that someone broke the passenger's side window of her auto while it was parked at her house last Wednesday. The damage was estimated at $300.
