1 Western (5-0) -- Last week's ranking: 1. Chanel Wright scored 19 points and Kimberly Smith added 14 in the Doves' 69-41 rout of then-No. 2 Lake Clifton on Wednesday. Danielle Davis (10 points) and Tesha Tinsley (10 points) also scored in double figures for Western. Next game: Today in the Altoona (Pa.) Tournament.

2 St. Frances (7-1) -- Last week's ranking: 3. The Panthers defeated Seton Keough, 50-41, Tuesday for their sixth straight victory. Kortni Webb scored a game-high 17 points, her fourth consecutive game in double figures. Next game: Today vs. No. 4 Hammond in the Holly and Hoops Tournament at Essex CC.

3 Lake Clifton (4-1) -- Last week's ranking: 2. The Lakers lost to No. 1 Western, 69-41, Wednesday. Lake Clifton , whose only three loses last season were to the Doves, was led by Lashina Gross (15 points). Next game: Jan. 6 vs. Walbrook.

4 Hammond (3-2) -- Last week's ranking: 4. The Golden Bears overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Old Mill, 56-47, Wednesday. Rene Hines scored 17 points to lead Hammond. and Kellye Townsend (13 points), Tameka Harrison (12) and Tiki Nicholson (10) also scored in double figures. Next game: Today vs. No. 2 St. Frances in the Holly and Hoops Tournament at Essex CC.

5 St. Mary's (5-4) -- Last week's ranking: 7. Tara Foran (18 points), Annetta Davis (17) and Kristin Miller (16) combined for 51 points in the Saints' 64-48 win over Mount de Sales on Monday. Wednesday, Davis scored 17 and Foran added 15, as St. Mary's edged Annapolis, 52-49. Next game: Today vs. Parkside in the Noel Classic at Archbishop Spalding.

6 Fallston (5-1) -- Last week's ranking: 5. Monday, the Cougars were upset by Mount Hebron, 60-56. Fallston rebounded from the loss with a 65-31 rout of Bel Air on Wednesday. Lori Heffley scored a game-high 14 against the Bobcats. Next game: Jan. 4 at Harford Tech.

7 Old Mill (3-1) -- Last week's ranking: 6. The Patriots lost to Hammond, 56-47, Wednesday. Old Mill was outscored 25-10 in the third quarter. Next game: Today vs. Mercy in the Noel Classic at Archbishop Spalding.

8 Severna Park (5-0) -- Last week's ranking: 8. The Falcons built a 13-point lead after the first quarter and held on for a 63-61 victory over Broadneck on Thursday. Angela DeSalvo scored 17 for Severna Park. Next game: Today vs. St. John's-Prospect Hall in the Holly and Hoops Tournament at Essex CC.

9 South Carroll (5-1) -- Last week's ranking: 12. Ce Wagner scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to a 56-50 victory over Howard on Monday. Wednesday, Amber Clutter scored 15 in South Carroll's 51-39 win over Centennial. Next game: Today vs. Bishop Kerney (N.Y.) in Lady Cougar Invitational at Frederick CC.

10 Seton Keough (6-1) -- Last week's ranking: 9. The Gators lost to St. Frances, 51-41, Tuesday. In the Snow Flake Classic at Northern-Garrett, Seton Keough beat the host school, 48-19, Thursday, and Fort Hill, 66-43, Friday. Eleven players scored for the Gators against Fort Hill. Next game: Today vs. C. Milton Wright in the Holly and Hoops Tournament at Essex CC.

11 Towson (4-0) -- Last week's ranking: 11. The Generals built a 20-point halftime lead on the way to a 59-32 win over Chesapeake-BC on Wednesday. Next game: Jan. 4 at Owings Mills.

12 Arundel (5-0) -- Last week's ranking: 13. Chavonne Hammond scored a combined 37 points to lead the Wildcats to two victories. Arundel beat Broadneck, 37-25, Monday, before Wednesday's 86-26 rout of Queen Anne's. Next game: Today in the Arundel Holiday Tournament.

13 Westminster (4-0) -- Last week's ranking: 14. Beth Lister scored 21 to lead the Owls over Montgomery County's Quince Orchard, 67-49, Tuesday. Westminster outscored Quince Orchard 45-28 after the first quarter. Next game: Today vs. Patterson in the Poly Tournament.

14 Mount Hebron (4-2) -- Last week's ranking: 15. Alisha Mosley scored 21 points and Kathy Doyle added 20, as the Vikings upset Fallston, 60-56, Monday. Thursday, Mount Hebron was routed by Laurel, 71-44. Next game: Today vs. No. 20 Loch Raven in the Holly and Hoops Tournament at Essex CC.

15 Howard (3-2) -- Last week's ranking: 10. The Lions lost their second straight game, 56-50, to South Carroll on Monday. Mona Jackson scored 21 points to lead Howard, which lost to South Carroll twice last season. Next game: Today vs. Northeast in the Liberty Belle Tournament.

16 Mount de Sales (5-3) -- Last week's ranking: 16. The Sailors lost to St. Mary's, 64-48, Monday. Tuesday, Mount de Sales defeated Pallotti, 57-30, before concluding the week with a 55-44 win over Severn on Thursday. Amy Buck scored 22 against Severn. Next game: Today vs. No. 17 Randallstown in the Catonsville Christmas Classic.

17 Randallstown (6-0) -- Last week's ranking: 17. The Rams remained unbeaten with a 71-17 rout of Eastern Tech on Wednesday. Next game: Today vs. No. 16 Mount de Sales in the Catonsville Christmas Classic.

18 Wilde Lake (4-1) -- Last week's ranking: 18. The Wildecats were idle last week. Next game: Jan. 3 at Poolesville.

19 Glenelg (4-1) -- Last week's ranking: 19. Jill Younce had 22 points, 10 rebounds and six steals to lead the Gladiators to a 64-42 victory over Liberty on Tuesday. Kim Brown added 13 points, seven assists and five steals for Glenelg. Next game: Today vs. Centennial in the North Carroll Tournament.

20 Loch Raven (3-1) -- Last week's ranking: 20. Kelley Powell scored 16 points, as the Raiders rolled to a 56-24 win over Hereford on Wednesday. Since a season-opening loss to Towson, Loch Raven has won three consecutive games by an average margin of 48.5 points. Next game: Today vs. No. 14 Mount Hebron in the Holly and Hoops Tournament at Essex CC.
