Dec. 28: The Senate was not in session to-day, having adjourned till Monday. What a strange thing it is, that the roast beef and plumb pudding of Christmas render men unfit for legislation.

Dec. 25: At the Monumental Tournament last night, Paul Johnson, the colored light weight champion of Maryland, knocked out William Sweitzer.

Dec. 26: Four trees and Santa Claus with several assistants, made many little folks happy at Highlandtown Avenue United Methodist Episcopal Church in Highlandtown. Candies, fruit and toy were distributed to each child.

Dec. 31: Baltimoreans yesterday were urged to start the New Year right by calling at the Red Cross Blood Donor Center and donating blood to help save the lives of fighting Americans now being wounded on the Western Front.
